Executive Chef/Owner, Georgi Yaneff
A native of Bulgaria, Chef Georgi’s first inspiration in the kitchen was his grandmother, who taught him to respect the ingredients in each dish. Growing up, he never imagined turning his hobby into a full time career and has been behind the stove professionally since 1998. From Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, Yaneff worked closely with Chef Jose Andres on the menu development at SLS Hotel and The Bazaar. He went on to open DSTRKT in London and also founded his own restaurant consulting and management company in 2013. Throughout his years as a chef, he traveled extensively around the world but always had a passion for Sicily, and in 2015 he founded BIMG Hospitality Group in Los Angeles. With O+O, he has combined his experiences spending summers in Sicily with his passion for creating innovative dishes that mix classic and modern flavors.
Chef De Cuisine, Gianluca Maita
Growing up in Sicily, Gianluca worked in his family’s fish market and it was here that he first learned how to appreciate the quality of fresh seafood in cuisine; he soon developed an interest in the culinary arts. While in high school, he worked at various restaurants in Catania, Sicily throughout summertime and holidays. Soon after his graduation, he moved to London for various culinary internships where he expanded his culinary skills and learned English while working in London and Australia. Always keeping his Sicilian roots close, in 2015 he relocated to serve as Chef de Cuisine at a resort in the Gold Coast of Australia. In his recent move to Santa Monica, Chef Gianluca enjoys sunshine, skateboarding and visits to the famed Santa Monica Farmer’s Market. At O+O, Gianluca (Luca) is excited to bring authentic Sicilian cuisine and technique to the table.
